Clever Shia!

Hollywood’s hottest young actor shocked the town last December when he left WME, with sources at the time telling Nikki Finke that he planned to go without an agent (like his role model Leo DiCaprio) and rely only on his manager John Crosby and attorney Matt Saver. Well, Shia has changed his mind and signed with CAA partner Richard Lovett. LaBeouf recently wrapped Oliver Stone’s Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps, which opens in April. He’ll likely start work in May on Transformers 3.

  7. i dont understand why some folks are opposed to CAA. CAA is an exclusive agency and they dont just sign any ordinary client. u gotta go where the opportunity is in this business and CAA is a step up career wise. although money is no longer an issue, u gotta remember that he got into acting in the 1st place cos he and his family were broke. he now has the money and speilberg to back him up, so the prestige is already there. perhaps he wants to explore different avenues as an artist and CAA may help him out with that

    wow…u guys need to calm down a little about this whole caa signing and appreciate the fact that shia just signed with the president of the biggest talent agency in los angeles (and coincidentally the guy steven spielberg and tom hanks also call their agent). that is a HUGE…the fact that arguably the most powerful agent in la will now be working to find shia projects only means one thing—more shia in diverse, quality roles!!!! maybe he can even package a deal to help get the promised land greenlit.
    i don’t think its necessary to draw character judgments just because shia decided to switch agencies. shia’s decision was most likely business related and had to do with the fact that WME(his former agency) has been in internal power struggles since their merger earlier this year. the agency has lost quite a few actors because of this. the truth is that WME is in a transitional period right now in which they are more concerned with internal restructuring and personnel than actually finding/developing new projects for their existing clients.
    sorry for the long post, but i just wanted u guys to understand the entire situation before judging anyone.

    did it ever occur to any of u that (assuming shia did actually post on imdb at one point) he doesn’t post anymore because of all these asinine comments? who would willingly read obsessive teenage girls bash his girlfriend or fixate on the length of his facial hair????
    like it or not, none of u know him or carey personally and therefore u have no right to pass judgement on either of them. for anyone to say that changing agencies makes ANY actor a money whore is childish and stupid because we have no idea what really went down. its the media’s job to sensationalize and sell stories, and u guys fall for the shady stuff every time. but then again, it shouldn’t be so surprising because after reading all the comments, i’m pretty sure no commenter is above the age of 16 on this website.

  18. I am sorry but #16 is a bit hyprotical for saying that we should “not pass judgement” when here you are doing the same thing. Saying that those who “bash Carey” are not over 16. WTF, not everyone is going to like Carey, Okay and I am sure that they are well over 16 years of age, maybe one or two are 16 but I am not believing that all are under 16, whatever.. That is one of the stupidest remarks I have read in so long. Get a clue, some can’t stand Carey with Shia, some think that she is not a good match for Shia, stop assuming this under 16 years of age crap!!!

  19. Hey you all, you can to be glad for him, he signed with a great Agency in Hollywood business. He deserve to have lots success and to do lots great movies !!!!
    Shia do his own choice himself. He’s a brillant man. I’m happy he signed with CAA. Now he can to make many Blockbuster and great movies. That’s the more important !!!
    and we will see it more making his fabulous actor job !!!! :) :) :)

    Its one thing do not like his girlfriend, NO ONE has to like her, but to bash her and put on her the blame for his career moves? its too much. I can show respect for someone and still dont love the person.

    CAA is the biggest agency in Hollywood, its has clients like Spilberg, Oliver Stone, Will Smith, Brad Pitt, Kate Winslet etc. And I am glad Shia is working with the best now. He is amn and he makes the decisions for himself.

  26. I agree, Carey is going to change Shia for the worst. Those two grew up in two different “worlds”. Carey comes from big money and Shia didn’t.
    Shia could be clouded with luvvvvvv that he will change just so he does not have to suffer another heartache like he did before (according to that Parade interview).

    I would like to add that I know so many ladies 30 and older who hate the bearded look on Shia. I think that Shia is trying to look older cause he is sick and tired of being told that he looks young (he should be happy with who he is) If that is the case that is so weird. That boy should be thankful for his youthful skin and stop trying to look like a nasty, 40+ year old man with that hairy thing on his face, that beard.
    That comment that poster 16 made must be from Carey or some fan who finds the grizzly bear look such a turn on, ewwwwwwww
