She’s had something of a meteoric rise to fame since starring in An Education and her film star boyfriend is an indication of her celebrity status.
Carey Mulligan, 24, took time out from the frenzied atmosphere of the 63rd annual Cannes Film Festival to spend some time with Shia LaBeouf, 23, who she has been dating for several months now.
The couple shared an intimate embrace at the Hôtel du Cap Eden Roc in Antibes, France before they left the hotel in a boat together.

Once on the water they stared longingly into each other’s eyes before kissing one another.
The actress, who stars alongside her boyfriend in the Wall Street sequel Money Never Sleeps, sported a swept back hairstyle as she made her way to the boat in a long winter coat and a pair of ballet slip-ons.

She plays LaBeouf’s girlfriend in the new film, which follows on from the story of Gordon Gekko (played by Michael Douglas) in the 1987 original.
Miss Mulligan recently spoke to Access Hollywood reporter Tim Vincent, and explained that acting opposite her boyfriend was not a problem.
She said: ‘I’m pro. I’m only ever thinking about the character. For me you’ve always got to try and tell the story on the page.

‘I think we have brilliantly written characters and we were put in great scenarios and we had a solid director.’
But Shia may have a battle on his hands for his girlfriend’s affections after she recently revealed that she has another love in her life.
The Bafta award winner told The Telegraph that she loves New York, more so than Los Angeles and her hometown, London.

She said: ‘I love New York – maybe more than Los Angeles or London,” says the 24-year-old star of An Education. “I could live in New York. I think I’m happiest [there].
In London, people can be so … well, it’s not even a case of people being unkind or unfriendly. You just don’t make any contact. You go from A to B with your eyes on the pavement.
‘New York is more social, and I didn’t expect that. If you’re walking down the street in LA, people do sort of look at you like you’re a hooker because it’s so rare to see someone just walking.’
She appeared nervous at the Money Never Sleeps premiere, sticking close to her boyfriend for support.
Carey admitted to being nervous on the red carpet and also said she couldn’t watch herself in the screening at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes.
The actress admitted: ‘I shut my eyes when I was on screen. I’ll watch it on the airplane, maybe, one day
